For Families
When a person you care about dies, everything changes. The world will never be the same again and no matter what we want to do, we cannot change that. But in spite of all the difficult challenges you may face after a death, there is hope. There is a place, right here in Omaha, NE that was created just to meet the needs of your family. Ted E. Bear Hollow is a safe, comforting place for you to meet others who have experienced a death, to learn how to help your children, and to receive support from caring people so you don't have to walk this road alone. At Ted E. Bear Hollow, everybody "gets it."
Our programs and events benefit the entire family. Whether you have young children, elementary age kids or adolescents, we are here to support your family as you adjust to life without your special person. Our support groups, day camps and teen retreats are led by caring and compassionate volunteers who have gone through specialized training. All of our activities and discussions are intentionally and creatively designed to help children at all age and developmental levels learn to process what has happened, talk about how their lives have changed, and develop some tools to help themselves feel better.
We have also created two new programs to meet a growing need in our community. Our new Young Adult Group (ages 18-30) and Adults Helping Adults (a program for adult caregivers who have already attended TEBH bi-weekly groups) are also available.
By participating in our free support programs, children, teens, young adults and families can learn healthy, socially appropriate coping skills. Join others who have experienced a death and experience first-hand the powerful healing that takes place when people support one another. Ted E. Bear Hollow is a safe place where families can learn to live and thrive, even after the death of someone very special.
