Bi-Weekly and Weekly Support Groups
In the fall and winter, families join us for our bi-weekly groups which meet for 8 sessions over a 16 week period (offered on alternating Mondays or Tuesdays). In the summer, families meet weekly on Monday evenings for 8 sessions. Groups meet from 6:00 – 7:45 p.m., and each session begins with a potluck meal, followed by groups in which children, teens and adults participate in age-appropriate activities. Families must register in advance.
Monthly Support Groups
Open to any family at any time, this support group meets on the second Saturday of each month from 9:30 – 10:45 a.m. A light breakfast is provided. Kids work with trained facilitators and adults have their own group, too. Families are asked to RSVP by Wednesday so we have enough food and supplies. Register online or call 502-2773 if you plan to come!
KidsKamp
Held at various times throughout the spring and summer, KidsKamp is an afternoon filled with fun activities to honor and commemorate loved ones who have died. Come make a comfort pillow, memory box or garden stone! Volunteers do “kid stuff” with the children and teens, while adults get “grown up” time as well. Check the calendar for KidsKamps in April and June!
Tinsel & Tears
Receive support as you prepare for the holidays. Come join other families and volunteers as you make memory wreaths, blessing stockings, holiday ornaments, star photo frames and more. An afternoon for the whole family! Check the calendar for Tinsel & Tears in November and December!
Teen Nights
Teens who have participated in an evening 8 session support group series, at least 3 monthly support groups or who have attended Camp Hope are eligible to attend our new social programing, Teen Night. Teens meet monthly to enjoy fun social activities and to meet new friends who have also experienced the death of a special person.
Camp Hope: A Retreat for Grieving Teens
One of our fastest growing programs, this teen camp offers an overnight retreat for our area’s grieving teens. First time camp participants join us in the spring to make drums, work with horses, create sand trays, tie-dye shirts and learn to tell stories with a professional storyteller! In the fall, returning campers are invited back for a variety of new, exciting activities including photography, video production, painting, hiking, and more! Held at Camp Kitaki.
Young Adult Group (YAG)
A support group for young adults ages 18 to 30, new 8 session groups begin each fall and winter. Must register in advance.
Adults Helping Adults (AHA) Support Group
A group for adult caregivers who have already brought their kids to our evening 8 session support groups, this provides an opportunity for further support and education focused specifically on the caregiver. No children's program provided. Must register in advance.
Remembrance Journey Walk
Previously held in conjunction with our annual 5K/10K Run, the Remembrance Journey Walk is now a special family event held each spring or summer. Grieving individuals and families can participate in creative, healing activities to honor and remember loved ones who have died. Wear photo buttons of your special person! Celebrate special memories and moments! Join us for great food and drinks, fabulous raffle prizes, music and more!
